When we started putting together this page, we couldn’t help but think the looks were reminiscent of Capri circa 1955. Sherbert colors, florals and birds all seem to evoke a time when things seemed a little sweeter. And, given what is transpiring in the world, who doesn’t want a little sugar coating every once in while.
Florals: The first trend we spied on the runways for spring are florals. Yes, they are back in a big way. Soft feminine florals in all sorts of silhouettes are peppering the stores right now. But, here are our picks for the top of the heap: (1) We love this fifties inspired look from Steven Alan. Belt it and pair with your favorite bernardos. But if you don’t quite have the dough right now, we found this amazing Marc by Marc Jacobs seersucker dress
dress on sale at bluefly for less than half the price.
Stackable jewels. Stackable jewels are still in for spring and we honestly couldn’t really part with them. We thought we show our favorites. These Zoe Chico rings are great and easy to mix with any other jewelry you sport. For more budget friendly options, we suggest this gold bracelet by Carla Perretti
on sale for $55 or this great retro find from Jo No Fui
for a little more loot at $75.
Sherbert colors. We had mixed emotions about Sherbert colors and dare we say pastels until we found this chic option from Alexander Wang. Small pieces like a razor tank are a great way to experiment with a new trend without embracing it from head to toe, not that we thought you would. For a different splash of color, try these skinnies from Sass & Bide
on sale now for $79. Or these fab sandals at $28.
Birds. Birds are definitely not going away either. We found this fantastic scarf from urban outfitters at such a deal that it is worth the spend. And, if you are really daring, try this peacock band at an equally affordable price.
